ClockWorkMod (CWM)Recovery is the best and the safest way to install Custom Roms, make nandroid backup, fix permission, create SD partition and much more. CWM totally overwrites over you existing recovery and thus allows you to make your own customization in the smartphone. However, you need to have a rooted and a bootloader unlocked device for CWM to work.

- Using ROM Manager
- Flashing Custom Kernal
- Installing via PC
I would recommend you to install ROM MANAGER app from the app store and flash CWM using it.
- USING ROM MANAGER
Rom Manager is the best way to flash cwm and other custom ROMs on your device. You just need to download the app from play store and install it.
After installation, you need to "Flash ClockworkMod Recovery" and select the appropriate file for your Device.
It might take some time for the download to complete. Make sure you are on a stable Internet connection. After Installation is complete, you might have to restart your device once.
Congratulations. You have successfully install CWM on your device.
If you want to install a custom ROM or make a backup of your phone, you can use the app to perform it easily.
You can also use "Rom Toolbox" to add extra functionality to your rooted device.
- FLASHING CUSTOM KERNEL
You can have CWM installed on your device by flashing a CWM compatible custom kernel on your smartphone. Most of the new kernels made by developers are compatible with CWM. ClockworkMod gets installed directly once you flash the kernel. However, make sure you are installing the correct kernel for you phone since kernel can be Device specific.
- INSTALLING VIA PC
This is one of the most advanced way of installing CWM. You need to download Fastboot files and install Adb drivers on your pc. You should use this method with caution as making any mistake can brick your phone.
- Head over to this link and install Android SDK tools
- Download Required files using the SDK tool
- After Download is complete, you will find "Fastboot" in "platform-tools" folder in your installed directory.
- Fastboot is thus installed.
- Now head over to CWM official page and download the recovery according to your device.
- Copy the file to "platform-tools" and rename it to CWM.img
- In the same folder, press shift and right click. Click on "Open Command window"
- Connect your phone in fastboot/ bootloader mode to the pc.
- In the command window, type " fastboot flash recovery CWM.img "
- Restart your Smartphone.
