Bye Bye Holo, Hello Material Design.
Google unveiled the next version of Android at Google I/O last week ad-mist a lot of speculation. The most surprising thing of the event, which no one expected was the name. L. A simple as that. From the Lasagnas to the Lollipops to the Ladoos, Google surprised all with the name of the version. And the most significant thing about the unveiling was the Developer preview of Android L which allows devs to test apps on Android 5.0 much earlier before the release.
As a result the whole world now gets a sneak peak into the next version of the OS, almost a couple of months before it's release. Google has bid farewell to the Holo UI, which was present in HoneyComb (3.0), ICS (4.0), Jelly Bean (4.1-4.3) and KitKat (4.4), and now introduces Material Design, which is whole lot snappier, vibrant and better with cool transitions. More on the UI in the video above.
