Hate the new blue checks on WhatsApp? Since WhatsApp activated the Blue checks, it has attracted a lot of criticism from users believing it was an intrusion to their privacy. Here, we present you 5 ways to read the received messages and bypass these blue checks as well. So here you go!
1. Use a WhatsApp substitute
Snowball Beta

Snowball is not another messaging app! It organizes your messages from the apps you already love providing you with a single, easy-to-access place to view everything. Snowball supports: Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Snapchat, SMS, Hangouts, Twitter, Line, WeChat, and Slack with Telegram, Viber, and Skype and coming next.
Requires Android: 4.3 and up
2. Use WhatsApp Pop-up notifications

For this method, Go to WhatsApp and into Settings > Notifications > Pop-Up Notifications and select which ever option you prefer. Now, when you next get a text from a WhatsApp contact your screen will illuminate with a message pop-up. You'll have the option to ''View'' or ''Close'' but hitting either one of these will change the marks from gray to blue on your friend's phone. What you should do is hit the home button on your phone instead. Done. Message received, blue checks avoided.
3. Use the WhatsApp widget

Just long press a blank space on your home screen to bring up the widget manager. Add the WhatsApp widget to your home screen and when new messages come in, even ones that are several lines long, you will be able to read them in the widget without affecting the blue check marks. Of course, if you tap the message in the widget it will launch the app and the jig will be up, but as long as you're mildly careful you'll be able to read everything incognito. Even if the one contact sends you multiple messages you'll still have separate entries
4. Use Airplane mode

Another way to avoid the blue checks of ignorance is the good old Airplane Mode trick. All you do for this one is see a message has come in, turn on Airplane Mode and then go into WhatsApp and read it. You can then safely hide from your friend but only until you turn Airplane Mode back off.
5. Use Lock screen notifications

Set up a lock screen widget on your lockscreen to avoid blue checks.
