Since WhatsApp activated the Blue checks, it has attracted a lot of criticism from the social media believing it was an intrusion to their privacy. This feature is not exactly revolutionary as Facebook Messenger has had a similar notification for read messages for a long time. But now, we've heard speculation you will have the option to disable the WhatsApp blue check marks in the future.

A German WhatsApp beta-tester based in California has said on Twitter that you will be able to disable the double blue check marks in the future. We also have a creenshot above which shows a BETA build showing the option to disable the blue checks. (However if you disable your blue checks, you cant see others' as well. This is certainly good news for people who feel pressured to reply to messages. The blue ticks were activated without the necessity of an update to WhatsApp, but it's likely that a new setting control like this will arrive in a future update that you'll have to download.
